629723 2008-01-12 12:28:00 These are some lyrics from Stina Nordenstam, in her song Little Star:

Laudamus, adorramus te, Dominec.
Laudamusbenedicimus
Domine Deus.
Laudamusbenedicimus
Domine Deus.
Cum Sancto Spiritu, in gloria Dei Patris.

I'd be keen to know what they're translated to in English.

629724 2008-01-12 15:50:00 LITERALLY:

"Laudamus adorable you are, Lady (or "Woman-God")
Laudamus, a benedicted Lady God.
(Laudamus- implied), You are the Lady God.
You gave (breath) birth to all, (in context to preceding line)
You are greater than the Father God." (or possibly: "Of sanctified gods, you are more glorious")

Sounds rather pagan to me. But that is rather literally translated..it has deeper, darker meanings in full context.

This was stretching my Latin pretty hard....<brain hurts>

We Praise and Worship the Lord God. We Praise and Bless Thee, Oh Lord God. We Praise and Bless Thee, Oh Lord God. Together with the Holy Ghost, in the Glory of God the Father Amen.

Uh . . . where's the feminine gender supported by the definite articles?

I checked my "translation" from several sites and they all come back feminine . . . but that might be several experts just making the same mistake . . . right?
Not that I am an expert or a translator . . . but I recognize (as well as the official translator-sites do) - that there's not much masculine gender there for a traditional male salutary opus/kyrie .

Thanks Joe (and Cicero). Yeah I can tell it's pretty dark. Although some of her music is astoundingly beautiful to hear, most of her work is pretty bizarre.
