I can't load xp via safe mode or LKGC either way it hangs.

784665 2009-06-22 12:04:00 Try last known good config. I doubt IE8 would stop XP from booting Speedy Gonzales (78)
784666 2009-06-22 12:06:00 use FF 3.5RC2, much better/faster GameJunkie (72)
784667 2009-06-22 12:10:00 Already tried last known good config Speedy, it just hangs at the splash screen.

Also hangs during safe mode, it was fine 3 hours ago till it got rebooted for the IE8 "update"

Ok now i've got safe mode up, black screen, no desktop, all I've got is a command prompt.

This article describes how to start the System Restore tool in safe mode by using the Command prompt (SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal(AlternateShell)). This option is used when you cannot start Windows XP.
