630890	2008-01-16 21:38:00	I grew up in Manurewa and Otahuhu, not a place to walk around alone I tell ye. Funny... I have rellies in Otahuhu, I catch the bus in Otahuhu, I carry a laptop too. I am just a chicken I dont really want to get bashed up so I dont walk around South Auckland alone at night. If I hypotheticaly had to walk around alone at night in any area with an phone number starting with 2 in Auckland I would like to carry a gun. Its the brutal truth it hurts because it is in NZ. You will get taken out in SA and the chances skyrocket if you are pissed as well. It is not possible to give the reason why SA is a dangerous place because the moderators dont like the truth either. 630894	2008-01-16 23:32:00	I would walk around Otara late at night but only if I was carrying a gun like an Uzi/Steyr with some spare mags taped to the main mag. Although 9mm bullet not generally big enough to kill large/fat people it should knock them down so you can keep moving. C1 Erm, I assume you mean a gut shot. Something in the face, even from a Glock, would stop any sane person in their tracks ("S*** HE F***N SHOT ME IN THE FACE! RUN!" or something like that). A proper head shot would even stop lard lad. And what about something like a shotgun, blow a hole in their back and make 'em a paraplegic. Half the solution is also part of the problem: If I carry a knife for self defense (which I would quite happily do if the cops saw it from my point of view), which is quite reasonable where I live in Christchurch (Linwood area, usually walk through Phillipstown area as well, I've had my share of weirdos), all the do-gooders think I'm part of the problem. The fact of the matter is that in a fight I wouldn't stand a chance (I'm about a strong as a stick). Hence, to fend for myself against these kids, I would need the knife just to equalize the fight, let alone stand a chance of kicking their ass. But, then, there's the problem of 'what if they have a knife', then I'm up s*** creek unless I have a proper roman sword or a gun. And since I don't want to kill them, I'd have to just shoot them in either the gut or the knees and hope they run. Then they go to the cops, saying I shot/stabbed them (which I did), and my excuse of 'they threw the first punch' wouldn't hold up in court because I was the one with the knife/gun/offensive weapon. So by protecting myself, I become the criminal. Whereas if I had nothing to defend myself with, just let them dish out a beating, then go to the cops (if I'm still alive), my only hope is that they get caught (which they won't because it'll be a low-priority beating, no weapons, etc). So either get a beating and never see them again, or stab/shoot them and go to prison for a while. It's loose-loose!	ubergeek85 (131)
630895	2008-01-17 00:04:00	If you shot them in the gut/knee, I doubt they'd run away, they'd be lucky to crawl away (especially if it's a teen) It's like that time when the dairy shop owner got robbed someone in NZ, he shot the guy who was robbing him and everyone except the cops said he did the right thing. And like that time a trouble maker was causing mishap outside a club, the bouncer head butted the guy and the guy fell and hit his head and the ground, killing him. In the end, no matter how hard you try it would be best (unless you can whip their ass with your fists) to let them be. I mean, even if someone attacked you first, how would you feel if you ended up killing them with no intentions to do that? But then again, go YouTube 'street fights' or something like that, and when you see 3 guys try and take on 1 guy and end up getting their ass kicked, it's a laugh and a half. Especially when the 1 guy is a boxer or something and completely ****s them all up. I think everyone should just take up boxing. Lol.	--Wolf-- (128)
630896	2008-01-17 00:16:00	Yeah the sentancing is absolute crap in this country. I was talking to my friend yesterday about that thing in CHCH last year where that fellow thought he'd drive his car through a group of people at a party, then through another group at 80kms killing some people. My mate has to give another report for the case because he was actually one of the only people there who saw it and was sober. One of the girls who later died, my friend was trying to help - she had two broken legs and massive internal bleeding, he asked her to sqeeze his finger if she could hear him, and she just did. At that stage the riot police come marching in force around the corner - totaly oblivious to what had just happened and not realised the dozens of people lying on the road covered in blood with broken limbs. Tim ran up to the cops saying that they need help, in panic and all he got was "GET AWAY!" as the marched along. They even tried picking that girl up my her arm because they thought all the people spread on the road were just drunk and coma'd out - thats when they realised perhaps to listen to the people screaming and yelling what happened and noticed the compound fracture on this girls leg as well as litres of blood from her mouth running into the gutter. How long do you think he'd get? I'd like to see him tortured for 12 hours a day for the rest of his life, but I guess not. My friend was 2 metres away from being hit and saw the whole thing, experienced the lot. The guy who did that hit a first group of people, decided to aim for the second group on the other side of the road and accelerate up to 80ks to do so. How many people will be scarred for life from that night? Possibly around 300+ as the party consisted of over 500 at that stage. How long will that ONE man serve in prison for doing that? 630899	2008-01-17 00:37:00	Well when the parents are not allowed to discipline kids..... Schools are not allowed to discipline kids....... Who is left to discipline the kids...... No one so they run riot until they go to jail and then do it all over again to pay society back for taking away their freedom. Well New Zealand you reap what you sow. 1. tell me how a bill passed less than 6 months or so ago has led to this ? i think the people that did this were way beyond any disciplining. 2. You can still discipline your kids. Do you really need to give them a thrashing to achieve this ? Probably not. 3. Why is any failing in society seen as a chance to bag the anti-smacking bill ? For gods sakes these people were just louts who are on the fringes of society and are not mentally developed enough...in actual fact there is a strong chance they may have been beaten as kids you know violence breeds violence and all that.
