| 784796 | 2009-06-23 07:34:00 | I think it's worth a go with XP, maybe Win7 if you have a bit more memory. Just be aware you could face lower performance and keep your data backed up just in case. I've seen someone running this configuration and it was perfectly usable but I'm not sure what he did to persuade it to boot from the SD card. Slightly off topic, there's a very readable discussion of SSD drives and Win7 (blogs.msdn.com) on the Engineering 7 blog. You would definitely be better off with an SSD drive. :drool |

Those look like quite good value and will give you a much better result than a regular SD card. I didn't know you could get this size SSD as a standalone purchase so easily. |

Silent and quick, seems like an easy upgrade for someone who doesn't have qualms about reinstalling their OS . I did a bit of searching on them and they seem to be a recognised name in SSDs even though I never heard of them before . The Silicon Power website has a newer range of drives than the ones listed on flashcards . co . nz, though minimum capacity is 32GB so even when they reach us here they will probably cost quite a lot more . |
