| 630960 | 2008-01-19 03:28:00 | While jogging in raglan, a dog bit the back of leg open, I stabbed it through the head with a sativa (was lying close by). The owner came running out and tried to 'smash my head in' for killing his dog, the idiot should have learnt to fight before picking one. Anyway 18 stitches later down my leg we later learnt he had been starving and beating his dogs, he was trying to 'toughen' his dogs up. the neighbours dobbed him in as they were fed up as well. see that dog owner is the sort of person that gives dogs a bad name what an ass and while it is a shame, i would have done the same thing and that dog would have been put down anway wrong.......at least that particular dog wont go on to kill some other poor animal who also has a right to life..........or perhaps even a child ! *** DOGS WILL NATURALLY CHASE CHICKENS simple. hell chickens arent even that common in suburbia. farm dogs may be trained to not chase them, but otherwise what do you expect? it's like hitting a young child (or sending them to a naughty chair) for something when they dont know any better would you kill a cat for eating you pet rat? no. cat doesn't know any better. most dogs will not not attack children (or humans in general) without provocation. just because a dogs chased and killed a chicken does not mean they will will attack children. seriously, how you get this idea is beyond me. |

Dogs should always be under control of their owners . Dogs that roam around by themselves are not under control they revert to their primeieval instincts ie they are descended from wolves . If your dog chases and hurts my pet/family/visitors it will get taken out do you understand? Dogs will naturally attack kids as well so dont demean my pet . C1 |

If your dog chases and hurts my pet/family/visitors it will get taken out do you understand? Dogs will naturally attack kids as well so dont demean my pet. of course a dog will naturally attack a human. but if they're brought up by anyone other than a retard they know not to. of course who brings up a dog to not attack a chicken? you overreacted AND broke the law - and while you may feel justified, you admit you buried the dog on another property at night time, which tells me you didn't want to be caught so maybe you do realise that what you did was not the "right" thing to do. like i said before, if a cat killed your pet rat would you kill the cat? a roaming dog does not instantly revert to a wolf like state. where you get some of your ideas is beyond me:illogical have you ever even owned a dog? but you are right, dogs should not ever be allowed to roam off the owners property without a leash on them. and even then taking a dangerous dog outside is downright stupid. infact it's only a select few being retards and making the things dangerous in the first place that gives dogs their bad name. and of course if a dog does attack a person, it is legally required to have it put down. even if that person was a burglar or an assailant attacking an innocent person or the dog itself. the closest thing to a right a dog or any animal has is that it can't be deliberately killed unless the owner decides so. |

| 630963 | 2008-01-19 05:27:00 | 20 years ago we heard the neighbour's dog outside, went to investigate and caught one of our labradors with chicken fur in its mouth and a half plucked chicken under the car (it survived). The neighbour's dog had heard us coming and vanished. The one and only time I've ever thoroughly beaten one of my dogs - with a rolled up newspaper. Then she was shut in the car for the rest of the day and ignored (we were living in a double garage back then so the car was the only place we could put her in solitary confinement). And we made a big fuss of our other lab - her mother - within her sight. Once out she was growled at soundly. She was looking very sorry for herself come bedtime. She never touched another of our chickens again. And she was great with kids. Our youngest learnt to stand by crawling up to her and using her to balance on. |

C1 You don't seem to understand the concept of human flaw, or the simple phrase "**** happens" . I'm convinced my dog will chase or maybe even kill chickens if he's free when he sees one, but if he's roaming that would mean I have accidentally left the gate open . Yes, dogs should always be under control, but what if the dog gets out out of the owner's knowledge? Dogs will naturally attack kids - seriously, what the hell are you talking about? If that's the case, then my neighbours' kids would all be dead by now . Hell, I might be dead myself . |
