632511 2008-01-21 07:53:00 What are the pros and cons of Wide screen & normal screen LCD monitors? Other than that W. screen is 'shorter, wider' and that, normal screen is 'normal' or 'traditional'?

Which actually gives a more 'natural' look? I also notice that W. screen looks a little 'distorted'.

632512 2008-01-21 08:00:00 Well unless you play something like a DVD in WS, you dont really notice the diff.

Nothing wrong with WS LCD's.

I spose you'll see a bit more of the screen if its WS.

632514 2008-01-21 08:08:00 I have a 22" wide screen and a 19" "Normal" screen sitting side by side.

No visable difference in written matterial.

In games a slight flattening of circles is noticed on the wide screen, but not enough to distract.

I run ms flight sim on the wide screen and all ancillaries on the other. An ideal setup

632515 2008-01-21 08:26:00 How big is your CRT & what res do you run it at? 4:3 LCDs still look ok if you run them a bit below their native res, but widescreen monitors look terrible in anything other than their native res.

Widescreen monitors are quite handy for working with text - often it is more convenient to have 2 shorter pages side by side than it is to have one big page.
