| 632134 | 2008-01-20 10:25:00 | OK, at 21:00 the lights go on the fritz. I go out for a walk to see who else is affected. 200 metres down the road is a shopping mall, they are lit up fine n dandy. Look the other way, same street. Pitch black. Walk up to near the Otara motorway on/off ramp. (Hey there Chicken One, I'm still in one piece) Lights are on over there. Traffic lights at this intersection are off. I walk back home, take me digital cam with me, and take three pictures before I turn it off. Get to the main street intersection, turn on camera and lo and behold... Murphy curse #1 Batteries die. :badpc: Walk home, get some fresh batteries, redo the settings on the camera, start walking to the intersection. See a guy in Vector Electricity van inspecting power poles, take more piccies. Get as far as 200 metres from the intersection for more pictures. Murphy curse #2 :annoyed: The lights go back on! Electricity is restored!!! NOOOO! :rolleyes: All in all though, It only took Vector 1.5 hours to get the Electricity restored. So yeah, nice to vent and rant frustration somewhere. |
