An arborist that I've discussed this with recently doesn't have much trouble with this issue when trees that were planted in the wrong place originally have to be removed. out west auckland there is a pretty strong disincentive to plant natives because you need a permit to remove or trim them, and of course the permit adds a cost of several hundred bucks and a few weeks waiting to the job, and then they could decline i heard of one tree the north shore council refused to remove when people said it was about to fall over. fell onto a road crushing cars and downing power lines:groan: |
