631626 2008-01-19 08:09:00 Jermsie: Another thinker. Thank you. Good to know there is more than one.

Mercury: Thank you, but be careful you are not branded the same as me!

For those among us with an open mind, the Americans and the Russians have conducted telepathy experiments with positive results.

Only F1 members that believe that I may have a valid argument should have a look at: books.google.com and the rest of the disbelievers should take your closed minds and go elsewhere.

That's a rather interesting read.
I generally avoid discussing topics like these; They seem related to the creation vs. evolution debate which is perpetually raging on and gets bobody nowhere very fast when they could better spend their time watching youtube or indulging in some fattening food (which isnt a problem when you have a metabolism as energetic as mine).
The mind is amazing, it can be trained and manipulated through repetition (practice of an instrument for example) until a certain exercise requires almost no effort. Perhaps there's a simple explanation for some 'telepathy.' We're very receptive of body language, tone of voice, eye contact etc. Perhaps the brain analyses all these things and arranges all this into some kind of pattern that can be used to predict or guess with some accuracy what the person will do or think. A lot of the accounts are of people who know or are close to the person that shared a telepathic moment. That is just a stab in the dark... Just thought I'd say it for the hell of it.

631627 2008-01-19 08:11:00 Metla: What I am objecting to, in particular, is that not only are my thoughts and experiences rejected, but they are rejected with scorn and derision.

I did think that I may have started a thread that might have stimulated some intelligent discussion, but instead I received, in the majority of cases, contempt, mockery and sarcasm. You joined in. There were no questions as to how telepathy may or may not work, there was no argument for or against, just disdain. And you wonder why I reject the criticism?

Sounds as though the majority have had the same surgery as Greg has related.

Thank you Jermsie for your input. I do agree with what you say, although I can tell you that my experience with telepathy is that it is possible not only in close contact, but many kilometers apart.

I do not care if the rest of you disbelieve. It makes no difference to me. I thought, mistakenly, that more than two or three people may have been a bit more receptive to an idea that is, I admit, rather hard to grasp and accept for those among us who have not had that experience.

631628 2008-01-19 08:21:00 Count me in with the "Closed mind" people who refuse to believe obvious rubbish that cannot be proved.
I fully accept that anyone is free to believe in whatever they like however that does not make it correct/true. (The idiots that believe 64 virgins are waiting for them after a suicide bombing springs to mind)

We'd be a boring lot if we all believed the same thing.

631631 2008-01-19 09:58:00 If you really believe in telepathy you are a nutter.
It rates with ufos, ghosts, religion.
This stuff is ok if its not taken seriously
Some people here have called me a pyscho nutter well its my turn lol.
But I have a pyscho report dated from April 2000 by a Major Beverly Green saying I am sane after spending 6 months in East Timor. It ends with no follow up action required..

631633 2008-01-19 10:10:00 Ah the usual trick - if you disagree then you have a closed mind. :stare: gibler (49)

Only in our dreams are we truly free (or on amphetimines... but that gets viscious)

True, but we would be bloody stupid to ignore fact.
