| 633234 | 2008-01-24 22:06:00 | Firefox have been trying to fix their browser which is great. On the other hand, IE has proposed a new 'meta tag' to ensure their browsers are standard compliant to pass the Acid2 test. They can't be ****** to fix their browsers; instead trying to force webdesigners around to world to insert their new tag. Make life easier for the webdesigners, and install a browser that follows web standards naturally. No need for the new tags. developers.slashdot.org |

I agree with Microsoft's decision in this case, following standards will break an awful lot of pages. This way, the existing pages won't break and new pages will be able to follow standards with a minimum of effort (one extra tag). Maybe by the time IE9 comes around the meta tag will have outlived its purpose and can be deprecated. | Erayd (23) | ||
