785299 2009-06-24 08:12:00 Oh and most versions of Linux. When you are used to Windows (whatever version), it's a nightmare to configure & understand and a new version seems to come out every week !!!

I like Linux but don't use it as my main OS on the main computer for the reason you said it is always changing on an almost weekly basis

785300 2009-06-24 08:22:00 Anything from MS because it changes itself.
Unfortunately it appears to change itself with nappies from the wrong pile. ;)

785303 2009-06-24 12:14:00 Microsoft brings out service packs and security updates constantly. There is no real difference between those and different versions of Ubuntu

But Linux is updated and evolves all the time, it is open source, that is the point - this also causes things to be updated quicker.

If Microsoft tried to sell you new versions of Windows on the same regularity as each new version of Ubuntu .... well you can imagine what would happen

When you are used to Windows??? A majority of Linux users started computing in Windows.
And yeah, its a nightmare to [especially] those who aren't willing to explore new possibilities/adventures and open their minds to a different way of doing things

But meh, you keep using your bloated OS called Windows... that is a stability nightmare, needs an AV, antispyware, etc etc; and requires that a new hole be fixed at least twice weekly
I like Linux but don't use it as my main OS on the main computer for the reason you said it is always changing on an almost weekly basisAs said Linux is open source. It is being constantly refined/upgraded to better improve features etc. Is this not the same as Windows and its updates?
Oh wait... most of Windows updates are critical and/or security updates
