633944 2008-01-25 13:36:00 Every night when I sleep my ankle keeps getting bites.I get red little swollen bites on my ankle when I sleep and in the morning my ankle becomes really itchy.

I live in a hostel and i don't own any pets.I don't have any food lying on the floor and I vacum clean every 3-4 days.

I've tried washing my sheets and pillow sheets but still I keep getting bites at night

Does anyone know if there's some kind of bait I can lay around the room to kill them?

Any help would be nice.Trying to get some sleep but it seems the fleas are having dinner on me

633947 2008-01-25 17:00:00 I would be a bit concerned that you are only being munched on at night. Being a hostel, I would check the bedding, bed frame, and crevices in the room (eg skirting boards) for a wee insect called a bed bug (en.wikipedia.org). They only come out at night, although you should really have bites on other parts of your body as well.

If you do manage to find a bed bug, let the hostel management know because they may have to fumigate other rooms.

Other than that, get a flea bomb can from the supermarket and set it off in your room when you are out. Don't forget to warn your room neighbours of this first.

633949 2008-01-25 19:24:00 Speak to your hostel management staff - they should have contracts with pest control firms like Rentokil to come and routinely deal with this sort of thing. somebody (208)
633950 2008-01-25 20:08:00 Sounds like bed bugs. The flea bomb will kill them too, but make sure you expose the mattress and other bedding so the fumes can reach all the critters. lakewoodlady (103)
633951 2008-01-25 20:11:00 Paint your feet with nitroglycerin - when the little sods sink their fangs in they will blow their heads off.
Later, your artificial feet will blunt the little sods teeth.

633952 2008-01-25 22:42:00 Fly Spray, spray onto your bed on sheets and carpet all around, works wonders, you will only have to do it 2 - 3 times and they will all be gone. Try it. zqwerty (97)
633953 2008-01-25 22:55:00 If it's bed bugs the bites would be more than just the ankles.

To get rid of fleas use a an anti-flea powder all over the floor and outside the door. Leave it for a few hours, then vacuum. Repeat the process three days in a row.

But of course complain to management as mentioned.

(ps ignore zqwerty's advice)
