| 786215 | 2009-06-27 04:16:00 | Hi guys and hoping you can help. I have been having problems, this last week, or so with my above Outlook Express. The Delete key just doesn't work,:badpc::badpc::badpc: but it works in Word. Just spoken to my sister, and hers is the same. We are both running XP Home. I have SP 3 and she is on SP. Thanks for any advise, Ian. | ianhnz (4263) | ||

| 786217 | 2009-06-27 04:59:00 | Hi ya Trev. The Delete key works as per normal on other programs, it's just Outlook Express. I thought that was interesting that my sister was having same problem. Thinking must have been one of Microsoft's updates? Delete key works on here.. | ianhnz (4263) | ||

| 786221 | 2009-06-27 11:20:00 | I'm not sure what is going on here but I just loaded Outlook Express on my WinXP SP3 installation and the delete key worked as expected. I imported from Outlook2007 which is my default Email client. |

| 786222 | 2009-06-28 02:39:00 | There seems to be two reasons it is not working for some: 1) MS released a hotfix, get your sister to U/G to SP2 at least 2) Corrupt Deleted items folder: -Click on Tools ~ Options ~ Maintenance ~ Store Folder Note the location of Outlook Expresss data files. -Close Outlook Express -In Windows Explorer navigate to the store folder. The location is usually here. C:\Documents and Settings\<profile>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Indentities\some large number -Delete Deleted Items.dbx Reopen OE and it will build a new Deleted Items folder. | 786223 | 2009-06-28 02:48:00 | Hi ya, blam6 and thanks for info. Sister does have SP @ and I have SP. I did what you said about, Deleted Items.dbx. Rebuild folder, as you said, but same problem. I click onto Credit and To. Typed in an address and the dele button works up there, as it does with other programs. Like you said I'm thinking it must have been a Hotfix, but how does one find out? Thank Ian | ianhnz (4263) | ||
