634772 2008-01-29 07:28:00 If he can make a profit of a hundred or so dollars per card he buys, mods (slightly) the sells then good on him. If i had the money to start doing that and thought i could make those sought of profit margins why not? If people want to pay his high prices where there is one for $100 dollars less on the sam TM page then its there fault for being lazy and naive. nzjab06 (101)

The main issue here is that he lies and says they are "brand new OEMs" and calls cards he put together himself *RARES*

I don't even know why the hell I called this thread "help me get back at this guy" It's more of a "god this guy pisses me off".

634774 2008-01-29 09:33:00 What's the problem? It is a regrettable tactic, but it surely isn't unique.
If all sellers told the truth, and sold things at cost plus a reasonable margin, Bill Gates would not be on the rich list.
If things were fair, music & movie stars, sportspersons etc. would need jobs to support their habit, obviously we don't want that, do we? Carry that thought through, you would have politicians having to pay us to play their stupid games.

634776 2008-01-29 10:45:00 Vincent - you get what you deserve if you buy from a person like that. Greg (193)

634779 2008-01-30 05:03:00 I suppose if you mod something like this seller is doing it is rare because it isn't a common card. However, I do understand your worry about him selling them as brand new. nzjab06 (101)
634780 2008-01-30 09:35:00 I have no problem with him re-selling cards at high prices, he can try to sell them at whatever price he wants, and if idiots buy them that's their loss.

BUT - if they're not new and he's saying they are, then that's completely different.

Lying on his auctions about "new" cards, and advertising extras that can be purchased separately are both against trademe terms and conditions - if you want to 'get back' at him, report his auctions, maybe if you show up his lying about new items his account might get banned too - that should significantly annoy him

As much as I hate it, I think Vincent is on mrivtec's tail here. Having nothing better to do tonight, I decided to compare mrivtec's buying and selling feedback page, and lo, look at what I dished out:

(Notice on all the things he sold he declares them as "NEW". Also remember to look at the dates and similarities between what he bought and sold)

HE BOUGHT:
www.trademe.co.nz
THEN HE SOLD:
www.trademe.co.nz

HE BOUGHT:
www.trademe.co.nz
THEN HE SOLD:
www.trademe.co.nz

HE BOUGHT:
www.trademe.co.nz
NOW HE'S SELLING AS NEW:
www.trademe.co.nz
(NOTICE: on this auction, he states: Note: Card identical to photo except cooler is just clear oem not coloured) Remember he bought a Gigabyte 7900GT earlier with its sticker removed. Looks dodgy to me.

HE BOUGHT:
www.trademe.co.nz
THEN HE SOLD:
www.trademe.co.nz
Though granted he bought it new, this 8500GT may well be the same one he bought. No crime here, but does show his ways.....

HE BOUGHT:
www.trademe.co.nz
THEN HE SOLD:
www.trademe.co.nz
(NOTICE: on this auction, he states: Note: Optional ZALMAN Copper Cooler & PCI Express Power Cable available seperatly) Remember he bought an X1900GT earlier with a Zalman FATAL1TY cooler. He probably doesn't want to mention it's a FATAL1TY in case someone pointed this out. Looks dodgy to me.

Now something that probably involved MY old Pentium D 930 3GHz:
1.) gunitwest36 bought my old Pentium D 930. Gunitwest36 then sells it, and mrivtec bought it from him:
www.trademe.co.nz

2.) mrivtec sells a "NEW" combo of a 945P motherboard + a Pentium D 930 3GHz:
www.trademe.co.nz

Yes, he has sold a few combos similar like this one, with Pentium D 3GHz CPUs, but usually he uses the cheaper Pentium D 925, which are also 3GHz, but cheaper.

Now I'm not jumping into conclusions here, but what I suspect may be true: he bought a second hand Pentium D 930, then sells it as a combo deal with a motherboard as "NEW". Notice he sold it as a combo, probably to hide the dissipated thermal grease, which will tell you it's second hand, not new.

He has also bought a few Arctic graphics coolers and a couple of Zalman, which he probably uses to upgrade the coolers on second hand cards then sell them as "NEW".

Remember I got all these only from the first page of his many feedback pages. I don't know how much more dodgy deals he did.
