786619 2009-07-04 01:07:00 If even the CD causes a BSOD then there may indeed be a hardware problem.

Download and run http://www.memtest.org/ for a start

786620 2009-07-04 01:29:00 its not a memory problem as i just bought new memory...sorry it was a memory problem but something else is contributing because i bought new memory and installed and the problem persists. bin3287 (15049)
786621 2009-07-04 01:55:00 So your memory was faulty and now you replaced it?

Have you checked the new memory with memtest anyway to see if the problem was fixed?

Some motherboard faults can show up as bad memory (errors in memtest)

What PSU are you running all that on by the way? If you have an underpowered PSU you can get all kinds of strange instability problems.

786622 2009-07-04 01:58:00 550watt earth power...how do i use memtest i got a friend to do it last time bin3287 (15049)
786623 2009-07-04 02:16:00 PSU sounds good..

Memtest can be booted from floppy/CD/USB flash

CD is probably the easiest. download www.memtest.org

Unzip the ISO file and burn it to a CD-RW (so you don't waste a CD)

Then, reboot the PC with the CD in the drive and your PC should automatically boot from it, and start running the test.

786624 2009-07-04 02:25:00 yeh its started running the test now when its finished what should i be looking for??? bin3287 (15049)
786625 2009-07-04 02:52:00 pass complete no errors is what is said... whats the verdict??? bin3287 (15049)
786626 2009-07-04 02:52:00 OK, just leave it going until it finishes.

One of two things will happen: it will finish and say "Pass complete, no errors"

OR errors will come up on the screen. You will know there are errors because they are highlighted in red.

786627 2009-07-04 02:54:00

Ok, well your RAM is probably fine then, so guess it's something else.

Is there any difference in the error you get when you try to load the windows CD?
