Today whilst going to town I saw a man riding a bicycle which was completely surrounded by large plastic bags full of aluminium cans, it was recycling day in the area and he was collecting all the cans from people's green boxes and taking them to get the money for the aluminium, I forget the value but it is very small and it is hard to believe that anyone would have to do this unless they are in dire financial straits. We often see people going through the rubbish bins round the city looking for cans. The way the system is set up there are always going to be 'losers' it's build into the design and that is what I object to. Especially when all the 'high flyers' would not be able to function if it were not for the road cleaners, rubbish men and all manner of ordinary workers carrying out their tasks. I agree that the Alphas in our society should get more than the betas, perhaps 10 times as much but not 100s or 1000s as much. |

I didn't even read the rest. tell them to go do some work. Hell, When I needed work I walked onto a job site and volunteered my services as a shovel hand. If you are prepared to do nothing, You deserve nothing. |

The dole is available to everyone in NZ, and there are so many jobs out there it's not funny. $150 may not be huge, but it's enough not to need to collect cans if you spend it wisely P.S Metla is the awesome. |

You are not to take advantage of other people's mistakes or dishonesty and therefor assuage your conscience by circling wagons of others who will let you hide from the truth . Since you acceded to owning a conscience, I bet it is still uneasy and really knows the right thing to do as a socially responsible and morally decent person . The heart is the seat of motivation: the brain filters out the chaff and leaves the good . . . if it too isn't fooled by poor logic . |

I can't be bothered reading all these pages of pointless arguing.Ive only just got back, read the first page and then this one. Pay it back... justify it however you want to, but in effect the games were stolen (albeit inadvertently) |

| 633428 | 2008-01-28 09:44:00 | A transaction was undertaken by two presumably compos mentis entities, somewhere in the process one of the two lost the plot and gave the objects in question away for virtually free, too bad. It is always buyer beware, caveat emptor, I don't see why it isn't seller beware as well. The quick and the dead. That's the way it is these days, and it is the capitalists who made it that way, suck it up. |

It is always buyer beware, caveat emptor, I don't see why it isn't seller beware as well. The quick and the dead. That's the way it is these days, and it is the capitalists who made it that way, suck it up. A transaction in this case involves goods for money. No money was received by the seller and the buyer has the goods. Now I think we agree that an employee of the seller made a mistake and that is a situation where the employee could be fired by the employer and possibly should be. If you lost your wallet containing wages and I picked it up then I would hope you would expect me to return the same, Or should I just think it's a freebie? In that case you make the mistake and I take advantage of your mistake. You make the mistake by losing your wallet in the first place. In my view I would make a mistake by keeping it and contents thereof without making an effort to get the wallet and content back to the rightful owner. If you do not want to claim the wallet then that would be different. No wonder we have so many people in prisons and that costs the taxpayers money. Just my view and you do not have to agree with me. I still have an open mind which is ready to be full of whatever comes along. |

| 633430 | 2008-01-28 11:35:00 | Finders - keepers, losers - weepers. Actually, I have found 4 wallets or pay packets lying on the ground and in each case I have spent quite a lot of time getting them back to their owners, but if I found a big bag of money on the side of the road and that has happened in Chch a couple of years ago I would have to think long and hard about that. The bag of money had fallen out of a Security truck and the person who found it returned it, it belonged to a bank. |

Did you hear "Honesty is the best policy"? You will not have to try and remember any lies or untruths you may have told. As I have said earlier there are times you need to lie and actually have to. |
