634432 2008-01-27 19:52:00 Here's (www.predictweather.com) an interesting read by Ken Ring (the long-term weather predictor).

It is slightly conspiracy-theory flavoured, but I have never heard of the theory of 'a-biotic oil'.

As an aside, I bought Ken Ring's book for 2008 weather and am marking off each day (for Auckland) to see how accurate he is. In the past 28 days he has got it 100% right 14 times (and 75% right an additional 5-6 times). Considering the book was written some time ago - not sure of the exact date - a 50% average isn't too bad!! Better than the Met Service??

Not that I'd ever want to see TV3 drop the lovely Toni and just get Hilary to read from Ken Ring's book!!!! I think I'd turn TV off forever if that happened!!!

634434 2008-01-27 20:54:00 Almost as good on the Pseudo-science as the "Harmonic" theory that charted spots of odd activity in N.Z. put out by an airline pilot a few years ago.
It sold a few books too.

634435 2008-01-27 21:27:00 I'll let you know what his average success rate is at the end of the year. Probably no better than the proverbial rock outside the kitchen window. You know the one: if it's wet, it's raining, if it's white, it's snowing and if it's not there, it's windy... :D johcar (6283)

We had a similar theory when I lived in Stratford. If you can't see the mountain (Egmont/Taranaki) it is raining. If you can see the mountain it is going to rain.

Of course all those who have psychic abilities will know and will possibly pass on this information to those that are telepaths whom hopefully get jobs in the Met office.

My raincoat is in my car in case I need it. Like the Scouts I try to, "be prepared."

634437 2008-01-28 00:28:00 Ken Ring's web article (www.predictweather.com) is one of the funniest pages on the web. For "Science Fantasy Comedy" he could rival Terry Pratchett in teasing a fantasy out of a grain of truth.
Well worth the price of a free look, if your time is worthless.
