2008-02-03 06:41:00 | I am an expert on all sorts of amazing things. The view, and knowledge gained from it, are awesome. And I don't even need to sit on a roof. | Mercury (1316) | |
2008-02-03 06:42:00 | Maybe, but the real question is, would you have swerved if it was a female duck? Are you sexist? Do you not like these so called 'drakes'? | --Wolf-- (128) | |
2008-02-03 06:55:00 | Females automatically duck. | R2x1 (4628) | |
2008-02-03 07:39:00 | As I ducked to avoid the drake then how can you ask that I don't like drakes? If possible I slow for ducks too.

2008-02-03 11:49:00 | I came across a dude in a japper had just run off the road and down a steep bank in Red Hills rd. I helped by untangling the fence so he could get out of the car. A stupid lady in a house next door didnt help the dude just rung the feds. I had seen him before he was a digger operator which we do work for. He said he swerved to avoid a hawk which was troughing a possum. He said his instincts were that it was a protected bird he didnt want to hit it. Saw him a few months later and he said the fuzz accepted his explanation and his boss paid for the fence. C1

2008-02-03 19:13:00 | Yesterday's trip to San Diego mountain resorts had me on Highway 79, southbound and there was this large, fluffy cat . . . having just been hit by another vehicle . . but still waving a paw into the air . It might've been some death pose or whatever, but I tried to miss it . . which I did . . but hit a large boulder on the side of the road with my K5 Blazer and somehow it managed to push back the left front axle a half inch or so . Considering that we drive on the right side of the road and that I hit my left wheel on a boulder on the right side of the road makes a strange mental picture to be sure . The rest of the trip to my frind's house was with a cocked steering wheel and the vehicle trying to drift into oncoming traffic, so it was a real concerted effort to stay betwixt the lines until I got there . Once there I put the winch cable on the lower shock mount, loosened the U-bolts a little and pulled the front axle back into position . Next time . . I'll perform the coup de grâce on the little fuzz ball . I still have to adjust the drag link a little . . but I got it all back into relatively good position for the trip home last night . I've killed two California Golden Eagles too . . . and they are protected . . . but I cannot help it if they were trying to commit suicide . . can I?

2008-02-03 19:56:00 | He said he swerved to avoid a hawkWhich country was this in? If it was New Zealand he was obviously lieing as there're no hawks here in NZ. (ps - just being pedantic here - we have harriers and falcons, but as said, no hawks).

2008-02-03 20:21:00 | Yesterday's trip to San Diego mountain resorts had me on Highway 79, southbound and there was this large, fluffy cat . . . having just been hit by another vehicle . . but still waving a paw into the air . What size was the "large fluffy cat"? Given that you were perhaps driving in mountainous country and the said fluffy cat could possibly have been bigger than the kind that fits on one's lap, could it have done similar damage to your vehicle if you had run over it?
