Yep that is good enough for me. Tried to count the boxes I have daisy chained together but I ran out of fingers.

635616 2008-01-31 03:50:00 Provided the total load does not exceed the maximum ratings of any part in the circuit, there should be no problem.... right?

Even so...electric blankets and PC on the same output? Hes game.

635617 2008-01-31 03:59:00 electric blankets don't draw much.

whats the BIG worry is when you start seeing melted sockets, often due to poor contacts which heat up and met the plastic. people insist on usein them tho :(

635618 2008-01-31 12:23:00 I've got 4 of them daisy chained including a 8 plug one and no worries here:thumbs:

Brave last words?

635619 2008-01-31 18:06:00 This is something that has always worried me. I have about 8 units running off a single wall socket.
What is the solution?
Even if more sockets are installed they will still be comming from the same circuit.
Even more worrying is the mess on the floor behind my desk. Multi boxes and wires and cables in one glorious mess.

If we had a competition on who has the biggest mess, you would come a distant 2nd JJ.
If I have to add or subtract from my princely heap I feel full of the most terrible trepidation.

635621 2008-02-01 07:51:00 Saw someone who had a fan heater and a toaster on the same powerboard/multibox/whatever (don't ask why!) with a combined wattage of 3200W (board was rated for 2400) and that was enough to trip the reset button - and wreck the board itself.

Probably was drawing >10A tho...

635622 2008-02-01 08:32:00 In my old house I use to have 32 sockets in total (all multi plugs) running off 2 Wall sockets they were all daisy changed, Ran my 5 computers, 5 monitors, Laptop, printers, TV, Video, DVD players, Home Theather, Projector.

We were drawing so much power that the power company had to come and bypass our switch board for the weekend so they could come back on the Monday and replace the fuse or something out at the pole, so we had free power all weekend. The guy wasn't impressed with our power consumption, I said hey it's business for you and it's paying your wages.

But I agree it was dangerous and a fire risk.

635624 2008-02-01 20:26:00 If we didn't have an occasional fire hazard, we would be paying redundancy to firemen. Also, insurance companies would have to advertise more.
Think positive, it's not so much a damned infernally hazardous bit of low level ultimate macramé, it's more of a winter foot warmer and dust catcher. Also, a safe habitat for EMI tolerant mice.
