787555 2009-07-01 01:20:00 right, i'll look for a different psu and motherboard, sort of keen for one that has good 5.1 inbuilt audio seeing as my soundblaster 5.1 is next to useless on vista/7

btw about skype i got an email with a code that gives you free calling for all of july.. check ur inbox?

787558 2009-07-01 07:46:00 Heres two examples of computers you could build
There a AMD and intel to chose from although there both quad and about $400-$500 more than you wanted to spend. However both are overclockable and will give you a good bang for your buck. Excludes screen (2ms 1080p = $350)

AMD = www.imagef1.net.nz
Intel = www.imagef1.net.nz

I could have made a computer with you spec's but in reality you want a computer that will last.

787559 2009-07-01 07:58:00 Only thing with some Asrock mobos are the slots, like that one. Too bad if you want 8 GB. You'll be lucky to find 4 GB sticks (and you probably wouldnt want to know the price anyway).

Saw another Asrock mobo last week 2 slots - 16 GB max. You'll be lucky to find 8 GB sticks, let alone 4 GB.

787561 2009-07-01 10:16:00 I was just looking at the screenies Joe made... (thanks for that btw)

I'm considering the cheap.jpg version :)... whats your source for these items? one single store?

also I wont be needing a DVD drive as I already have one in this PC, I trust cooler master is a good psu and the motherboard is good?

and i see you've chosen a quad core 8200 over a dual core 8400.. interesting

is 650W really necessary? i heard amps are more important for graphics card

but if others think this is a good build and all the components are thought to work well then i may just take ur advice!

787562 2009-07-01 10:32:00 Firstly, what will you be doing with your PC mainly. Quad cores are fast yes, but not if you're not going to use them. If all you do is a bit of gaming and word processing, web browsing etc then I would recommend a dual core instead of a quad.

550w would be just enough for that system, but 650w would leave more room for upgrades. For that price I also suggest you get an Antec 550w instead, its actually more stable than the Cooler Master.

Mobo is an excellent choice, provides Xfire and all features you'll ever need.

I chose the quad because Ive heard its an easy overclock. maybe I heard wrong?!?

P.S I was trying to be cheap but not too cheap for the PSU
Plus also that Graphics card will use a bit of power too.

PPS Did you notice the ddr3-1333 on the expensive and the BE?!?, for the price difference I know what I'd chose but then again I'm a AMD fan.
