639200 2008-02-10 22:09:00 Just think, a lot of us have the same ancestors as these guys. Obvious they got the stupidity gene.

639201 2008-02-10 23:04:00 Yeah I've eaten the stuff... once. Tastes bloody awful but far worse is the smell.

What made it bearable was the gorgeous Swedish girl who got me to try it, along with the bread and loads of beer.

But I gotta say that every fly within five miles was around us once the can was opened!

639203 2008-02-11 04:46:00 Well, I reckon they are a pair of wusses who have probably eaten nothing more exciting than English pap. One of them even says he doesn't like fish! I ask you.

I have eaten it on those flat Swedish biscuits, immediately followed by a straight slug of Akvavit. A good way to be greeted at the door on a cold Wellytown night - it sure gets the blood coursing through your veins... Mind you, it was a bit, um, surprising at the time.

We could probably flatten the Swedes (and those English ******s in the vid) with some kanga pirau or kanga koura...

(oh look, PressF1 can't cope with the word ******s - it gets automatically asterisked out - how cute and puritanical)

Germans have a different take on this.

 Now I assume they will be in an enclosed container...if a standard fish tank was used it could get quite interesting! :D

The piscine guinea pigs will lift off from Sweden's Esrange Space Centre on the 11-metre Texus vessel, Reuters reports. Some will be subjected to a "pure zero G state", while others will enjoy the trip in a slowly-turning centrifuge.

Make of the report what you will.

The report refers to "piscine guinea pigs"
Piscine refers to fish. Guinea pigs are not pigs and they do not come from Guinea either as far as I know.

Possibly the term refers to humans using animals for experimentation.
I am not against using animals for this purpose but I don't wear furs, croc skin boots and my chess set is glass rather than ivory.

639207 2008-02-11 23:09:00 And I thought fermented shrimp steamed with pork was bad.Dunno what that's like, but certain fermented fish can be a fantastic flavour enhancer, eg Thai fish sauce made from anchovies. And the Romans made a fermented fish sauce a couple thousand years ago which was an incredibly expensive delicacy. Greg (193)
