2008-02-09 03:59:00 | Hmmm Tempting- but make sure the Spam Filter (www.imagef1.net.nz) is working first. :D  | wainuitech (129) | |
2008-02-09 05:15:00 | But can it play Doom? | beeswax34 (63) | |
2008-02-09 07:41:00 | Good to see it runs hotmail   | jwil1 (65) | |
2008-02-09 08:59:00 | I am pretty sure that is a receive only terminal. The servers have a message ready flag on the side. More of a gateway point really. | R2x1 (4628) | |

2008-02-10 04:44:00 | Q If I win the auction, will you e-mail the P-A-C-K-A-G-E ? posted by: duncanmundell (6 ) 3:47 pm, Sat 9 Feb A I think the attachment will be too large for the network, I really would prefer pickups. See above. 6:52 pm, Sat 9 Feb Q Is the server insulated for Hotmail? posted by: trinabird (8 ) 4:20 pm, Sat 9 Feb A No, and it is steel so it may become hot on receiving Hotmail. 6:50 pm, Sat 9 Feb Q Can it handle email from Firefox as well as from Internet Explorer ? posted by: mistyisle (8 ) 4:23 pm, Sat 9 Feb A No, it does not work for either, only the formats mentioned above. You could try upgrading it, but I don't think it will work. 6:54 pm, Sat 9 Feb Q Haha thanks for brightening up my day! :p posted by: phil-the-man (105 ) 8:44 pm, Sat 9 Feb A that's alright 4:28 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q Do you have the server version? It has the manually (or foot) operated "message ready flag" that alerts the network collective to your stack RTS status? posted by: r2xi (95 ) 9:56 pm, Sat 9 Feb A sorry I should have been clearer... it has no flag, this is the reason we upgraded, that and we needed a larger capacity, our ISP (NZ POST) demanded it as we were too far from town. 4:26 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q can it spam out circulars?? posted by: blademi2 (58 ) 11:13 pm, Sat 9 Feb A you can purchase a SIGN that blocks most spam, if you attach it to the front. 4:28 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q I do believe another format used by these servers was BILLS. Can you confirm that this particular model server does not deal in this particular format? posted by: tiadapal (622 ) 11:17 pm, Sat 9 Feb A Unfortunitely this format is rather persistant, and ignores all SIGNs 4:29 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q Will this email server protect me from viruses? posted by: badcam (3 ) 11:38 pm, Sat 9 Feb A There are reports from the USA that one should be careful of PACKAGEs containing white powder. On the whole I would be more concerned about BILLs. 4:32 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q Following extensive research on the subject of L-E-T-T-E-R's I have discovered that the acronym stands for ... Lax Eventual Transfer (& ) Transit (of) Envelopes Recieved . If funding & coffee allows My fellow history boffins will research PACKAGE throughout the day posted by: mossum (19 ) 8:19 am, Sun 10 Feb A Thanks for the pointers... I knew someone would know. 4:33 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q Hey, I've got one of these. I think you are selling yourself short as these devices are essential for on-line purchasing. I have Mailbox Server version 2.3.8 and find it very reliable. Very easy to use, hit Buy Now, then Pay Now and a couple of days later the purchase is sitting in MB Server 2.3.8 ready to open. posted by: pdh (211 ) 8:40 am, Sun 10 Feb A There you go... bid away everyone... 4:34 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q is it an inbox unit or outbox only & will it inform you if your mail is available? also would I need any special adaptors to retrofit this unit? posted by: ianlois (154 ) 9:00 am, Sun 10 Feb A I have only used it as an inbox. I did try sending but it didn't work for me. As I said above be very careful hooking this unit up to anything electrical. 4:37 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q Ok following 3 rather yummy but slightly burned crumpets & another large coffee I have summised that P-A-R-C=E-L does indeed stand for ...... Patiently Awaiting Receipt (of) Cardboard Enclosed Loot . posted by: mossum (19 ) 9:18 am, Sun 10 Feb A Gosh is there anything you don't know!!! That is great, that must be it! 4:38 pm, Sun 10 Feb Q Acronym :- letters = Let Everyone Take These E-mails Really Seriously. Parcels :- Posted And Received Can Easily Lose Sentiment. Sorry thats the best of my knowledge from a distant memory of a dilapidated system. Munkweed. posted by: munkweed (52 ) 3:24 pm, Sun 10 Feb A another explaination 4:39 pm, Sun 10 Feb Misty :D  (upscaled from loi - laughing on the inside)

2008-02-11 00:25:00 | These can very low maintenance. I've got one and all I've done to it is add some extra bracing in the 10 years I've had it (the neighbours boy go into the car and let the handbrake off  ) Actually isn't it an email client :D
