637643 2008-02-05 05:14:00 I saw Dr Michael Cullen on tv3 tonight saying that the latest settlement with Maori (sea bed and foreshore) was the best birthday present he could ever have.

That is so chunderous !

Who does he think we are to believe such crap, just like his high interest rate, high tax rate policy being the best fro New Zealand when every other country in the world is going the other way !

637647 2008-02-05 11:25:00 There's also another reason for cutting interest rates, its to prevent a recession AND he has no control over interest rates. That is in the hands of Alan Bollard and the Treasury.

But why, oh why can't we have lower taxes??? We need a save-save-tax-save
system as opposed to what we have right now.

637648 2008-02-05 13:23:00 I like Michael Cullen.

He's intelligent, witty & has a sense of humour.
I also believe he has the best interests of our country at heart.

That doesn't mean I agree with all of his party's policies at all.
But those of us who LISTEN to parliament on radio, rather than just viewing TV snippets, know that it'll be a sad day when he leaves.
They're a dull & boring lot otherwise at present. His repartee is a rare bright spot.

And as a Dunedinite (which is where he was a local MP for years before going on the list), I can personally vouch for the fact that he's a Nice Feller.

The socialist way is to control the people. What better way than to steal their money then appear to be doing us a favour by allocating some to what we might be to our pleasure.(health say)

Clark and Cullen are good at giving the impression of doing us favours, some can't see through their ploy, but I would say the tide is turning and with luck those cynical gits will get their come- uppance.

637650 2008-02-05 20:12:00 Laura: 8 years of Cullen and in election year he decides to give tax relief!!!!!, if Labour get back in, you want to bet he re-tracks his offer! like the Chewing Gum one.

Lurking.

637651 2008-02-05 21:56:00 As politicians go... I rather like the guy. A vote for Dr Michael Cullen. Scouse (83)
637652 2008-02-05 21:56:00 I've been working on Melbourne for the past 3 weeks and was here on Australia Day. Compared to Maori Bitching Day in NZ they are a world aprt. Ozz Day = Lets move forward all together. Waitangi Day= Lets dwell on the past forever and never go forward. Pander to the minorities as they may be the key to us governing after the next election.. paulw (1826)
