637425 2008-02-04 20:36:00 Ok ..... My son and I have just started playing Halo 3 on-line, most of the time we play ranked matchmaker games and do OK but ....... in some matches things start to go wrong eg: We die for what seems like no reason, we see other players running into walls shooting, grenades don't make noises, we can shoot several clips into a player and they don't die, we, along with other players skip .... sometimes so bad that we are standing inside one moment and then outside the next, we try to get in a vehicle but its actually not even there ..... it makes it impossible for us to play the game and gets really frustrating because no one else seems to notice this which means they are playing a normal game while we are in some kind of twilight world (if that makes sense). Does anyone know what I mean or has had this happen to them ..... Is it a bad connection or a fault with us somewhere? We always play in a good connection match and it can happen when we are hosting a game or someone else.

I probably sound really clueless but in all honesty thats exactly what I am. :stare:

637426 2008-02-04 20:46:00 It's quite possibly a problem with your internet connection, although if you are hosting the game it shouldn't be an issue... :illogical Who's your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?

On your PC, go to www.speedtest.net and do a test to Auckland, see what the speed comes back as.

637427 2008-02-04 20:46:00 Sounds like you're lagging hardcore... except you can't if you're hosting it. You playing on comp? Or xbox? Thebananamonkey (7741)
637428 2008-02-04 23:42:00 I'm playing through X box and am with Telecom (i know everyone hates them but I have my land line, 2 cells with them for 15 years now) Why can't it happen if we were hosting the game?? I am on the 6gb plan as we would only play on weekends and thats all we would use broadband for ..... says we have only used 1.8 so far so I'm guessing thats not the prob. what should my speeds be?? never-u-mind (6500)
637429 2008-02-05 00:42:00 Check your NAT is open

Dashboard > last one on the far right > network > test connection > do test

(something like that)

637431 2008-02-05 01:29:00 Um that NAT thing isn't open .... I know this because when we go to play a game it warns us that its not open and some other stuff I can't remember ..... I guess I should change that .........:illogical

line speed is approximately 5780.9 Kbps or 708.4 KB/sec .... have no idea what that means ..... good or bad?
