788281 2009-07-02 23:19:00 I am running on separate disks, XP on C: and Vista on G:

I had a problem with LTLDR on XP and couldn't resolve it but decided that I wouldn't worry as I was going to Win7 eventually.

I decided to load down Win7 from the first Beta disk supplied by PCWORLD (I can't find a free copy of the WIN7 RC disk anywhere); I used a partition on the XP HHD. Lo and behold when I then tried to load XP, there it was just as good as new!

I can only assume that Win7 corrected the NTLDR problem I had.

If anyone has a similar experience I would like to see if my assumtion is confirmed.

788282 2009-07-02 23:28:00 There can be only one, Win7 would have replaced it with its own then given you the option to duel boot. Rob99 (151)
788283 2009-07-03 02:30:00 The 7 bootloader overwrote it.

If you remove 7 it won't wokr again.

788284 2009-07-05 21:48:00 I'm pleased to say that now having removed Win7, XP still continues to boot.

The earlier NTLDR dated Jan '08 was replaced by a Dec '08 version when I installed Win7.
