NZ needs someone who's capable and smart to think of a way to reduce GST and TAX but also gives benefit to everyone.. Hmm..Unlikely to happen ... |

| 637487 | 2008-03-16 02:37:00 | Hello, I am 26 years old and I am a college student who would like to apply for a student grant but I have a question and I need the answer. If I have student grants (not loans) and I fail a class, do I have to pay them back? Is there some kind of rule to this? I can't imagine getting paid for like 2 years and just keep failing and getting to keep the money. Thanks for the help. Yes, they have criteria such as having a B- or C+ average or something close to that to continue to get the student grants and allowances etc |

| 637488 | 2008-04-16 06:16:00 | Ok, I recently graduated college and have been often getting calls from student loan companies telling me they will get me the lowest fixed interest rates for the next 20 years. Do I really need them to pay back the loans? Do most people pay it back with the help of student loan companies? Can't I pay back the student loans myself? I also wonder if they really guarantee the lowest fixed interest rate or it is based on certain conditions. | jasmitwalkar (13366) | ||

You really couldn't compare economical advice etc. Hmm ... just spotted the poster karlahaze above had added some nice spam to their signature regarding getting study grants for *free* so I've banned that account. Not to be a suspicious person, but they are from the same country and indeed ISP you are plus their post sounds like spam pimping. Kinda like yours. I will be watching your account with interest ... |

Not much spare cash to spend on anything. I think the highest tax rate is actually at 39c in the dollar which comes into effect at a "whopping" $60,001k a year..... www.ird.govt.nz |

Ie. Off the top of my head, the first 36k is taxed at 19.95%, then the amount from there to 60k is taxed at 33% and the ones over 60k is taxed at 39%. |

Other than that, there are many scholarships in the USA and you may find that the college of your choice has also recently increased Student Aid due to Harvard and Yale doing so. |
