2008-02-14 11:14:00 | So citizens are not covered right? Cos if your an immigrant who gets citizenship, you're a full citizen now. Good bye Mercury... That means you cant claim either. Loser. I can see why so many people are leaving NZ, living with people like YOU is repelling at the lowest level. Well if you can't take what you dish out why not try somewhere like... let me see... India perhaps?

2008-02-14 11:40:00 | Yeah... Saw Police Police Ten 7 tonight. A Maori dude says "Yeah Man, but I slowed down and then stopped!" He kinda forgot to mention that the reason he slowed down and stopped was because of the 4 flat tyres from the road spikes. And for the /sarcasim "morons" re-read the comments 3 or 4 people have made in this thread and see if you find them highly offensive: - He should have given her her first Shy Diving lesson. - If she could learn to fly before she hit the ground, good for her. - Send her on a one-way plane back to Somalia. Why we let people into our country who make no attempt to integrate into society is beyond me. - Make her swim. Can't hijack anyone then can she - Nah - a plane by herself. Set the remote to fly back to Somalia but only fill it up with enough fuel to get halfway over the Indian Ocean. - Throwing them off is a really good deterrent. Whoops... - Very capital punishment. Lol. It's the way things should work, in the Bible somewhere it's mentioned if there is a piece of your body that causes you to do wrong, you should part company with it. While being a little extreme, it would work. - In the way of plane hijackers, unfortunately, this means parting company with their heads, so throwing them out achieves the same end and is much less stressful and there is no mess created - Let them die as far as I'm concerned. We have enough problems in the country without bringing in these type of refugees who seem to move to the top of the housing and medical ques... - They should have thrown that freak into the plane propellers. That would have been cool. - Mentor with a bullet = cheap and immediate stoppage of that person(s) reoffending. - Just got to be sure that the blood and the rest doesnt get on the windshield or there are wipers installed. That or shooting, with you totally Personally I don't find any of the quoted comments in any way offensive. I don't care about her, Not before she tried to kill people, and certainly not now. What I do find offensive is your playing the race card and making everyone out to be bigoted, when its plain as day that people are pissed off because she stabbed two people, two people who just happened to be flying a plane load of other people at the time. She is not being targeted for being non-white.SHE STABBED THE FREAKIN PILOT. And she is known and active criminal.

History repeats. Everywhere. For evermore. I was picking on you?? I also didn't say I was being picked on either... |

2008-02-14 18:27:00 | You seem to be taking the contrary view - do you think it is ok for inmates to get ACC if they injure themselves while attempting to escape? Yes, I do think it is ok . It is part of the price of a no-fault insurance scheme . In return for ACC not making moral or fault assessments about how claimants received their injuries we have to live with this kind of anomaly . It is a basic legal construction that people should not lawfully benefit from crime so it runs counter to this principle . However, in return for the level of cover that New Zealand benefits from under ACC we avoid almost the entire minefield of tort law for personal injury . I realise the bill was written off but to me it is symptomatic of the society we live in and the lack of compassion for victims . Really? Or was that legal aid bill perhaps just symptomatic of some twit of a bureaucrat who didn't have the brains to escalate the matter up the chain of command and just sent out the bill? Facts : some a-hole is out on parole, doesn't meet any of his parole conditions for a period of time, goes on a drug-fuelled killing frenzy, gets priority hospital treatment for his injuries Well, I suspect he was subject to standard triage when he got to hospital - and if the medical profession start making moral judgements about their patients then we're really screwed .

2008-02-14 20:38:00 | Or was that legal aid bill perhaps just symptomatic of some twit of a bureaucrat who didn't have the brains to escalate the matter up the chain of command and just sent out the bill? Probably. It wouldn't happen under a National Government. They wouldn't send inquest bills to widows / widowers - unlike the labour government and their hangers-on.. I fail to understand why you think criminals who are, yet again, not following the rules of society by trying to escape from prison, should have the ACC rules applied to them? IMO if you go to prison you should lose these rights if, once again, you choose not to follow the rules of society. Probably what I fail to understand is the mind of a criminal lawyer. A
