Well, It's my first post so I thought i'd post something interesting:

Project: Keyboard Adventure is a text adventure game comparible to Zork. It was written entirely in Java (not java script) by me. This is my first semi-popular project released on another forum.

The game has taken me in excess of 4 months to complete. It can be a challenging game at times and requires much the players concentration. I wont go much further into it rather i'll let you play it and see for yourself.

NOTE: This requires java to run. You can get java at http://www.java.com

Also, post any of your comments/suggestions about the game here.

Hopefuly, the members of this forum will remember the classic game Zork and will be more supporting of this project than previous forums were.

NOTE: If you are stuck there is a map here (lxalliance.net)

NOTE: If you get stuck putting the rusty iron key in the iron keyhole, just type 'put key in keyhole'.

640593 2008-02-15 06:11:00 You're the first person that's had a problem running it. Perhaps you have java installed only for web browsers? Try downloading the runtime environment from www.java.com or http://java.sun.com and see if it works. Any java 2 version 1.5.0 or later will work didanick (13408)
640594 2008-02-15 06:27:00 I started playing, then I remembered how crap text based adventures really are and I went back to what I was doing. pine-o-cleen (2955)
640595 2008-02-15 08:06:00 Come on, It's one of those simple pleasures. Maybe you're just too young to remember the simple days of computer gaming, where everyone paid a dollar or so to play a 8 bit game comprised of pointy polygons and other cheesy gfx.

Those were the days.

EDIT: No I wasn't around in those days.

I wish I was though :(

We don't usually undertake downloads without knowing in advance how large a file is.

The game itself is 491kb which should take 2 or so minutes on dialup.
However, Java is about 15mb which can take up to an hour or more on dialup.
I suggest that you download the game and see if it will run. If not, then I suggest you wait 'till I port it into C++ (may be some time).
