640193 2008-02-14 05:40:00 Hi Guys,

The ChatF1 account management has just undergone a fairly major change. While account data (user preferences etc) is still stored on the ChatF1 server, authentication is now done on the PressF1 server. This means two important things:
Every single PressF1 user automatically has a ChatF1 account as well.
Log in to ChatF1 using your standard PressF1 username & password, not whatever accounts you may have registered on ChatF1 in the past.

If anyone has any questions about this, feel free to either post in this thread (I will be keeping an eye on it) or contact me directly.

Cheers,
Bletch

Have a guess . No butt-kissery was required.

At this point any new user, although if it gets out of hand I may limit on postcount (however this is unlikely to happen).

Anyone logged-in at the time the server goes down will stay logged in, but every login attempted while the server is down will fail. At this point, noting that PressF1 is up almost all the time, I consider it an acceptable trade for the benefits of having synched accounts. If it goes down for an extended period, it's easy enough to re-activate the old system.

640202 2008-02-14 07:07:00 If sitting out a ban from Pressf1 can we access chatf1?If you are unable to log into pPressF1, you are also unable to log into chat. Having never been banned, I don't know if this means login but no posting (on PressF1), or if your account is completely disabled. Erayd (23)
