However... unlike what I'd do, they let the guy off lightly.

Some of us actually have rules in outlook and do not get spam very often.
Do you think all people should track down spammers and kill them or kick them?

I get more spam through Pressf1 than I do through my Email client.

Various people trying to sell whatever.

Fortunately you are on to this and Jen as well for which I thank you both.

I don't get spam very often as well (Thank you Gmail!) but that doesn't mean that spam isn't a serious problem for a lot of other people . Any spam is too much spam . Again, I offer the punishment of a roundhouse kick delivered by Chuck Norris (some people might prefer being killed actually )

639739 2008-02-13 02:36:00 While some of the solutions to spammers is a bit drastic, however many you kill/maime/chop hands off/whatever, another dozen will take their place.

Much better idea is to be careful where you place your address. Why not re-read my thread "Help for junk mail - spam, my solution" on 30.01.08.

There were a few that not only agreed but added their own solutions.

I reiterate: Why receive spam at all? I don't. Have been spam free for over two years. It's not difficult.

639740 2008-02-13 02:52:00 I hardly ever see spam in my emails (gotta love Gmail), but any that do get through are caught by Thunderbird and marked as read. :D pcuser42 (130)

Changing your address isn't a solution. Try subscribing to a few mailing lists, make a few posts, then see what happens to your spam count. At the end of the say, the only strategies that work well are whitelisting or filtering.

Some of us use our email for more than just decoration.

You chop off enough hands, you're going to start running out of those "dozens" very soon .
