789217 2009-07-05 14:12:00 How to make audio available on xbox connected to a non-HDMI monitor?

I have the standard HDMI to TV cable - the one with the three RCA connectors - video and sound. I also have a VGA HD AV cable - its VGA connector is connected to my LCD monitor, but the two RCA audio out connectors are useless as my 5.1 speakers have nowhere for me to plug in the audio out connectors (the cabling from the speakers are plugged into the subwoofer which has another cable that splits into 3 (front, rear and sub) before plugging into my pc soundcard).

how do I make this work? are there any speakers that allow me to connect the RCA connectors directly into them?

789218 2009-07-06 00:19:00 I found the solution to my own conundrum here. All I need is a 2 RCA to 1 3.5mm converter which will be plugged into the line-in port of my soundcard. The only down side to this is I will have to keep my PC on while playing Xbox, which isn't really a down side for me as my pc is on almost 24/7 anyhow.

Thanks for whoever has viewed this thread!.... case closed.
