| 639878 | 2008-03-01 04:47:00 | I remember reading in the press a while back that the average IQ of people by musical genre they listened to had Metal 2nd highest, behind Classical. Bands on the playlist at the moment: Killswitch Engage Mnemic Strapping Young Lad All That Remains Arch Enemy Chimaira Opeth Devildriver Ill Nino and good old Dethklok, hilarious bunch of fictional idiots edit: If you haven't seen it watch Killswitch's cover of Dios "Holy Diver" youtube.com guys dressed up as girls, huge ginger beards... you cant go wrong |

| 639879 | 2008-03-01 07:27:00 | For me, Slayer Slayer Slayer :) But yeah, best albums for me, hmm.... ones that I can remember :P Slayer - Reign in Blood Carcass - Swansong AND Heartwork (can't decide between the two!) Kreator - Violent Revolution Motorhead - March or Die (+ No Remorse, thats got Ace of Spades on it, everyone knows that!) Manowar - The Sons of Odin/Warriors of the World Cradle of Filth - Midian Dream Evil - The Book of Heavy Metal (this is a totally metal album, ecpecially the song bearing the same title as the albums) Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys (ALL parts) Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son Cryptopsy - None So Vile DRI - Thrash Zone (very nice, early thrash) and then theres all of Paul Gilberts stuff, I don't even know what his styles classified as but it's awesome. Very influential :) PS. nice thread. didn't know there was so many metal heads on pc world =) \m/ |

| 639881 | 2008-03-06 04:28:00 | Most of this thread might as well be in a foreign language for me. (But I do make an effort to read/keep up - being the naturally inquisitive/nosey person I am...) So just in case some of you metalheads READ, as well as listening, I pass on details of a book my favourite Zillion trader has listed. It seems to be a battered copy of Metallica:The Frayed Ends of Metal - Chris Crocker - 1993. It's $1 no reserve, 7 days remaining, no Buy Now & no bids as yet. The listing is 4870733 on http://www.zillion.co.nz |
