| 640181 | 2008-07-31 01:59:00 | Yes your right - they are merging - ihug helpline and email lines still used for former ihug customers though. After being on hold for 76minutes I got through today - my account was closed due to exessive amount of data in mailbox (i hadnt checked it for 8 days!) BTW I emailed them July 17 July 21 July 29 July 31. NO response to any of them. I'll say it again IHUG SUCK Still it is good to call them vodafone, as vodafone have published that they have now pulled the ihug brand, so ihug is dead. It is best not to brand an iconic NZ past brand, with problems caused by vodafones new systems that they have introduced to cut costs. Using the correct vodafone name, also gives them the bad publicity, and not a brand name that is no longer used. I also emailed vodafone a few weeks ago, via their online help system, and no reply. Yes they suck. Vodafone love to put telecom down, but at least telecom reply to emails and answer the phone quickly. |

| 640185 | 2008-07-31 10:44:00 | Well, other than their Vodems, and their benighted parasite accounts department - I thought they weren't too bad. The staff in the Vodafone shop in Glenfield mall are excellent. I sometimes recommend VF to people not quite offensive enough to warrant a Telecom sentence. |

The VF stores I have used, I haven't been too impressed with the staff. Maybe they get lots of people complaining, and they end up being quite defensive. In one store I was at recently, a woman came into the store to ask the VF staff member why she couldn't receive TXT messages, as it came up with an error message. He said that her phone maybe too old, and that the software becomes outdated, and sometimes you just have to buy a new phone. OK this phone may have been older than 3 years old (a nokia 1100), but that wouldn't be the reason it wouldn't accept text messages. I had to bite my tongue not to tell him he was not correct. I guess if you pay peanuts, you end up with monkeys. |

| 640187 | 2008-08-01 11:27:00 | Something weird happened to me today - I'm not a Vodafone/ihug customer, but sent an email (via my ISP Woosh) to a mate who is a customer, using an email address whose domain I administer (there are a total of less than 10 active email addresses on this domain). My mate replied to this email and I then replied to his reply. Next thing I know, I have a bounce message in my Inbox that states: Your message has encountered delivery problems to the following recipient(s): *****@ihug.co.nz Delivery failed Unable to deliver to destination domain SMTP greeting from host read: 554-mx.mailfilter4.ihug.co.nz 554 BLOCKED: The SenderBase reputation of your ISP or corporate mail server is extremely bad.I rang ihug support (9:50pm) on one of the 0800 numbers - on my cellphone - and got picked up almost immediately :D. He couldn't say why my domain was blocked and couldn't/wouldn't open a call for me because I'm not a customer  - with a policy like that, I'm not likely to become one either. But he suggested I get my mate to raise a call to get the domain unblocked. Why on earth would "pickledpedallers dot co dot nz" look suspicious to a mail server - it has never occurred before with any other email recipient, and I use my PP email address often...???? |

It will most likely be because the host that that domain is hosted with, would have been used to send out spam to other vodafone email addresses, and they have therefore blocked the offending host. It often happens with cheap web hosts, as spammers often sign up to cheap web hosts, send spam, and then get booted off by the web host eventually but too late as the spam has already been sent. Therefore it is most likely a web host problem. |

They are very hard to pick from a real V/F store until you need something other than a simple sale. Maybe I was just lucky, but I don't think so. Knowledgeable, helpful and cheerful service is probably rare these days but it is certainly a pleasure to encounter. V/F could be proud of their Glenfield Mall branch. On the other hand, they should be embarrassed by a bunch of incompetent monkeys in a shop liberally done up to look like it is a Vodafone office. This is the "First Mobile" kennel in Birkenhead Mall, they could fit into the semi-moronic, avaricious, incompetent, ignorant, ill-mannered, unhelpful category quite easily before lunchtime. In the afternoons, unfortunately the standard drops a bit. Maybe they have improved lately, but after two experiences with their performance I have no intention of ever visiting again. |

Yes it was first mobile, although I wouldn't have known it was first mobile if they hadn't told me. Vodafone shouldn't let them brand themselves as a vodafone store, because for all intensive purposes, to the consumer we wouldn't know any difference and what their business arrangements are between the two companies. |
