639384 2008-02-11 23:44:00 That certainly is contempt. If that (and bull****) is your considered opinion then I hope that it is not any indication of your intelligence, although I must admit being not too certain about that.

The most intelligent thing you have said is that you can't be bothered arguing. Is that because you don't have much more to say than:

Most intelligent.:groan:

Meh.

I think your posts are showing your amazing (lack) of intelligence. I actually have work to do...I work for a living.

Enjoy the rest of your day mate.

639385 2008-02-11 23:53:00 Is that your strange way of being pleasant? It does not sound that way to me and you obviously did not like it when I sent your words back to you.

Roscoe, I don't particularly want to rattle your cage, but it does seem to me you are being a bit hypocritical here.

In that Telepathy thread, you posted a long rant about telepathy, and got some short sarcastic replies (myself included) right away. Why, because what you were posting wasn't anything new or particularly enlightening and yet you seem to expect us to take it terribly seriously, even though our own views had quite likely been formed over a lifetime of experience and thought and not, as you seemed to want to believe, as knee-jerk un-thinkng reactions.

Your first reply was this:

And I thought that we had some intelligent open minded people on F1. I would not be at all surprised if you were all paid up members of The Flat Earth Society - "Everyone KNOWS it's flat."

Now that isn't exactly the kind of "sensitivity" you are now demanding of others is it? If we were guilty of dismissing your view in a heart beat, you were equally guilty of dismissing ours.

You followed up with comments like:

You obviously did not read the entire article. Perhaps that is a measure of your attention span. Another member of The Flat Earth Society.

Why? because Beeswax had quite rightly pointed out there was no scientific justification for telepathy.

I could list more but will not bother. The point is,

1] if you are going to spout what many of us consider rubbish, then expect to get flak. Personally my views on such things as telepathy are strong and are the result of thinking about life the universe and everything for most of my life. But having got to where I am, I'm not going to waste time trying to debate it with someone who quite obviously (from your responses in that thread) has no interest in actual debate. I get sucked into that every now an then and the closed loop "discussion" that results is always the same.

2] don't come back and accuse other people of being rude when you were equally rude and dismissive yourself. You do not have moral high ground here to occupy. So forget it, move on and don't bring it up again randomly later.

We can now add telepathy to the unofficial list of subjects on F1 that you should not bring up at dinner, which includes Macs vs PC, God vs No God, and WinMacGuy.
