788795 2009-07-07 04:34:00 +1 to what Wrat said.

HPs come with a lot of crap though, so be prepared...

So did the last Toshiba I set up for a customer :groan:

788796 2009-07-07 04:38:00 They all come with a lot of crap really. Asus are just as bad. It shouldn't really be a selling point (or the opposite of that) as they are all pretty similar, and it can always be removed. wratterus (105)

788798 2009-07-07 05:20:00 HP Elitebook, Dell Lattitudes and any Lenovo are business class machines. So they'll typically have better warranties out of the box (longer and on site etc). They also have bulletproof reliability but since they aren't aimed at consumer/home users, they dont have things like hdmi, discrete graphics etc. utopian201 (6245)
788799 2009-07-07 09:35:00 PBTech have some good deals at the moment.

My wife swears by her Asus- bought at Just laptops, great service there too.

I'd always go for more specs than you think you need now, down the line you just know you're going to want to watch movies etc....

But if you were me......... I 'd find a way to buy a Mac !

788801 2009-07-07 21:54:00 That's nice - throw an extra 2GB of RAM at it, and it would be ideal.

I put Windows 7 on a brand new MacBook the other day, it is super quick. Much much nicer than OSX on the same machine... highly recommend it to anyone with an Intel Mac! Remove yourself from the clutches of OSX :p
