Congratulations, however your reading and comprehension abilities appear to be lacking. :D At the beginning of this thread, both Wratty and I referenced the walker's speed relative to the environment as well as the ground. I guess it must have been subliminal inspiration that lit your fire.:illogical Cheers Billy 8-{) P.S. Look up the verb transitive 'comprehend' in the dictionary, it could explain a lot. |

| 640509 | 2008-02-17 20:28:00 | Look up the verb transitive 'comprehend' in the dictionary, it could explain a lot. Very true. Relative to the ground....which doesn't move. Relative to the rest of the earth. I suppose someone will now say that isn't strictly true, as the whole earth is moving...but in relation to what? Uranus? :o These threads always seem to get silly, people harping on about inconsequential rubbish, like what if the floor was moving at the same speed as the walkway, for instance. It obviously wouldn't be. Floors don't move like that. Wolfie's comment was sensible enough, easy to understand actually. Your speed + the environment speed = your rate of motion. (Relative to the ground again, which, for the purposes of this thread, doesn't move.) |

| 640511 | 2008-02-17 21:28:00 | Ahhhh, I have viewed the video footage of Caffy and he was obviously very drunk and was tacking quite unnecessarily at times . Surly, his forward speed could not just be a simple matter of adding his walking (wobbling) speed to the walkway speed? Paging Brad Butterworth . :D |

You're just mad my post got all the praise and yours didn't. And like I said, "THE WAY I SEE IT...." plus my example was different. |
