This morning when i turned on my pc a strange thing happened.My screen become all with yellow and blue lines.When I restarted the pc there were some strange symbols on the screen,and just before the Windows loads this screen appeared.I tried to reinstall my video card drivers,but it didn't work.As a matter of fact it made it worse.My video card is GeForce 8500 GT 512 mb and I am using Windows XP.Please help if you know how can I fix this problem... |

| 789134 | 2009-07-05 05:55:00 | That's almost definitely a faulty graphics card. I recommend running memtest86 for one pass just to rule out faulty memory (though this is not likely). If that comes up with no errors, simply replace the graphics card (or get a computer tech to). |

Then download memtest and burn to a disc, then boot from it and see if there are any errors http://www.memtest86.com/ Also, at what point did the yellow/bue lines occur? | 789136 | 2009-07-05 06:14:00 | No my mobo doesn't have integrated graphics,I've been using this card for about 1.5 years and it was running perfectly.The lines appear when the windows loads on the desktop screen,but everytime they are different or sometimes the windows doesn't even load.it just freezes on the xp scrolling bar screen,but not always.I turned off the pc for about an hour and after i turned it on again everything was fine (for 10 minutes...) then the screen froze again.I will download this memtest and see what happens. | emes34 (11736) | ||

| 789138 | 2009-07-05 06:17:00 | Sounds like the drivers are the prob, uninstall them. I would use something like drivercleaner 1.5 (if you can find it), select the Nvidia drivers option, remove them and the Nvidia folders, then reinstall them | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

I forgot to mention that I downloaded the latest drivers from the Nvidia site about 10 days ago and when I installed them an error message poped up,but I never saw it again.Do u think that the newest drivers could be the problem ? I already uninstalled them,but the screen is still messy. |
