790483 2009-07-10 01:54:00 Hello, i'm trying to play Unreal Tournament GOTY and i'm having a small problem. It seems whenever i update my Video Drivers to the most recent this occurs: I have an unplayable framerate in game. Like 2 fps. But before when i didnt update my video driver it plays fine. 790485 2009-07-10 02:29:00 How do i revert to a previous version? LarsJohann (13010)
790486 2009-07-10 02:37:00 What kind of graphics card do you have? Whats your OS? I've had the opposite problem before, it flies at some ridiculous speed like somebody hit the FFWD button on a VCR... :D Chilling_Silence (9)
790487 2009-07-10 02:40:00 I've got a really old Nvidia Geforce 4 MX and i'm running Windows XP. LarsJohann (13010)
790488 2009-07-10 02:46:00 Are you using D3D or OpenGL? What resolution? Anti-Aliasing and Anti-Stropic filtering settings are probably set to "Auto", turn them off in the nVidia Control Panel... Chilling_Silence (9)
790489 2009-07-10 05:17:00 I'm not sure about about Geforce 4 MX, but I know that for the Geforce 4 Ti, the best performance drivers were around 40-60. Don't use the newer ones, they use software to render the DirectX functions which aren't supported in Geforce 4 era hardware (eg DirectX 9, pixel shading etc), which saps performance.

Note that you'll get high performance, but you'll also get render errors in newer games (new as in half life 2 :S) for example textures missing.

But yeah, alter your settings again with the current driver and then leave it alone.
