642061 2008-02-21 05:03:00 "hardly"? I think the word you were searching for is "not".
Or that.

642062 2008-02-21 05:40:00 A pox on all organised religions. Jesus had some great ideas - seems like a top man, even if he was deluded about his parentage. Unfortunate that the churches decided to patent his ideas. Buddha was a right on philosopher as well. And there is probably nothing wrong with Mahomed either - just a pity that Islam is such a ghastly mess (not sure whether to refer to Islam as an organised religion).

As for scientology - well, let's face it, none of the recent religious fanatics/frauds like Ron Hubbard and whoever invented Mormonism and the JWs are worth spending any time on really. Nutcases.

I lost interest in religion when my grandmother told me that Armageddon was going to happen in the 1950's and I had better get prepared for the battle. Given that I was 8 at the time, I think this was not a grandmotherly act. Still, I had the ivory handled carving knife sorted out as my weapon for the big stoush. Not sure how I was going to get to Armageddon from Ohoka, but still, grandmothers have awesome powers of persuasion.

All organised religions are deeply sick. Do some research on the current thinking on Armageddon amongst the religious right in Amerika and you will see what I mean...

putting the 'mental' back into 'fundamental'

(the sort of christian who say everything, including injured/killed troops from iraq/afganistan, as being god's wrath for us tolerating homosexuality - so they give their kids picket signs they don't understand and the whole family will go to soldiers' funerals proclaiming "god hates fags")
