642314 2008-02-21 08:32:00 I would like to know how many coal fired power stations they have (one hears of crazy figures like building one per week !)

I just wish the greens would let us build one new one. With winter coming and seeming power crises every year. We have a **** load of coal and a long thin country where the wind blows most of the pollution away.

If there was a landlord for the earth, we would probably not be regarded as good tenants.

642316 2008-02-21 19:48:00 The chinese beach pics aren't as gross as that Japanese wave pool (www.youtube.com) (56K (www.imagef1.net.nz)) IMO. That'll be soup in there.

That is purely disgusting. Couldn't see even a little bit of water.

642317 2008-02-21 20:09:00 You need to give the figures in density per sq mile to compare with Surfer Joe's, because as we all know the USA is the world's most advanced country yet still uses feet and inches ! (but they did shoot down a satellite !)

In metrics, they would have missed by miles. ;)

642318 2008-02-21 22:38:00 What I want to know is how does china keep growing with only one child per couple? It just makes no sense to me. People I've talked to seem to say that they don't know anyone with siblings. How long has it been law? And how does it work? Thebananamonkey (7741)

We use feet and inches as a handicap to give youse guys a little leg-up in the competition.

Where it slows us up, we make up for it in technology and scientific advances.

What makes you think that there was any water? That many in the pool would displace most of any water . I believe that the wave machine was only making waves on the people (similar to a mexican wave) and there was no water .

Not only that, the feet and inches are not even real imperial feet and inches (bit like the American gallon - bigger of course!) but the American equivalent of - even more of a handicap . :D

Metric products tend to reflect that. :o
