Wow - shows how we vary. I always reckon MSWORKS is the best program ever of its type. For most people streets ahead of Office.
And then I got to thinking (I do occasionally). I use MSWORKS but only the 1997 version. The last version I bought (some time after 2000) I tried to use for a while but eventually it ended up back in its box in one of my drawers.
I agree about Nortons. Which saddens me because I remember in the days of DOS, Nortons was fabulous.
It could even restore "bad" floppies.
Perhaps if those responsible would stop looking for ways to "improve" their product and thereby increase sales, and just modify when needed we would all be happier.

641659 2008-02-19 02:10:00 Not sure about the worst program but this web site is the most unreliable I have ever seen.

It is starting to hang and not load at times - again.
Not consistently bad but frequent enough to be annoying.

Agreed. It's a dog again. I thought PCWorld was an organisation that understood everything there was to know about computers. But no other web site I go on hangs like this one does.
But I see the adverts are back. Whoopee.

Get AdBlock+ for Firefox and subscribe to EasyList and EasyElement filters; that got rid of the annoying flash ads and it doesn't hang anymore.

Why should we do that. It is not up to us to make the web site useable.
I want to see websites as they have been designed to be seen, without having to use blocks or other programs that might interfere with viewing on other sites.

Then go moan at the designers who makes the sites you want to view as they have been designed to be viewed, full of adds, slow to load and buggy as hell.

Unfortunately I use IE. To be honest it runs perfectly well for me with no problems and when I have tried other programs (ie Firefox) I have run into installation problems even before it started. So being lazy and a bit of a coward have stuck with what works.
But I am thinking it MAY be an idea to try Firefox again. Or perhaps I should just go and have a quiet snooze until this flush of enthusiasm drains away.
