641535 2008-02-22 09:22:00 One other thing I really hate is your following somebody and the are only doing 70 - 80k, you get to a passing lane, you indicate, pull out and then the pricks speed up so you can't pass them.

That one is really annoying.

641536 2008-02-22 10:00:00 80km is a "legal" speed on the motorway.
Unless someone can provide some sources.

641537 2008-02-22 10:19:00 That wasn't my point, the fact that you go to overtake, then they speed up... rob_on_guitar (4196)

I was referring to SolMiester.

Oh yeah. But for those who get right behind you and they don't overtake you. They give you hell.

641539 2008-02-22 10:47:00 One time I was on the left lane doing 95 and he overtook me with the right lane - got snapped with a camera in a van. ;) Gotta love it. Hey maybe they can dispute the charge and maybe go to court and fight it :D Nomad (952)
641540 2008-02-22 10:56:00 If you were also in the frame how would they know which of you was speeding?

Probably no ticket was issued.

641541 2008-02-22 11:04:00 Well solmeister has this all tied up. Road deaths are caused by people not driving fast enough. So everyone set their speedos to 170 and no deaths anymore. Then we can petition our local MP's to get rid of this immoral revenue gathering that's going on.
Autobahns are mostly restricted. And not everyone on the derestricted ones feel the need to drive at 200kph. Many choose to just stay at 100. It's comfortable, and for the most part is fairly safe. Also a lot cheaper.
If you're going on a 4 hour drive at 90kph then you only lose 24minutes. And for the most part when I've driven too fast I've had the cars behind me catch up in towns. It's dangerous, there's very little benefit to it time-wise, and everyone on the roads thinks you're a tosspot when you do it. Just be patient, and live. Brandshatch pah! Giles Villeneuve was the best driver of his age, but that didn't help him at all. Things happen that you can't control, and when they do then the faster you're going the less chance of walking away. Motorsport deaths are all too common, and just because you can drive on a track it doesn't mean anything on the road. The two are just so different.
100kph limit means nothing. Conditions are everything, and people like you are what make the roads dangerous. There's no need to hurry when driving. It's just not worth the risk. 10 minutes late? Or dead? I think I'll be late thanks.

641543 2008-02-22 11:46:00 Hey are their any brave souls here who would tailgate people and constantly flash their headlights and toot the horn at them? :angry

Just today, this car was following me and the whole journey before it made a right turn had the full beam on. And this didn't mattered if it was in the quieter street or the main road with cars on both sides of road. I felt like thumping on the breaks and doing something ..

641544 2008-02-22 12:04:00 I hate it when someone sits on your arse then overtakes in a crazy place and immediatly after they have done the crazy overtaking move they promptly turn off into a driveway or a side street. :groan: CYaBro (73)
