790523 2009-07-10 03:14:00 Got an Asus GTX 260, since getting the 22" 1080p monitor I've found a few games I play and want to play don't run quite as smoothly as they use to on 1280*1024. :p

I can pick up a 2nd Asus GTX260 for around $360 now, and SLI'd they seem to achieve around 85% efficiency and perform well for a SLI setup...

I don't want to spend over $400, and these cards would hopefully last for some time - an upgrade to an Intel setup of some description is on the cards soon. Any thoughts? :thanks

790525 2009-07-10 03:21:00 It's camouflaged (www.productwiki.com), you wouldn't see it coming :lol: wratterus (105)
790526 2009-07-10 03:23:00 You're on Nvidia already so it would be waste to sell them and go Ati now..

Just grab another GTX260..

790529 2009-07-10 06:57:00 I reckon for both cards you could get around $550+. With that you could get a 4850x2 or a GTX285. qazwsxokmijn (102)
790530 2009-07-10 08:30:00 I voted for the last option that's just being greedy mate :thumbs::thumbs: gary67 (56)
790531 2009-07-10 09:35:00 You're quite right Gary. :thumbs:

A GTX 260 SLI setup looks like it would outperform the GTX 285 quite easily, and even almost rival the 295 in some applications.

I never thought SLI was a good idea unless you were a psyco, but the price of the 260s is making me think twice. I've got a massive case and 750w Silverstone PSU with heaps of +12v rails, so there's going to be no issues with cooling or power.

790532 2009-07-10 09:47:00 You know what I'd say go for it. Makes your PC look more beast-like and the performance will be excellent. qazwsxokmijn (102)
