I want to encode 1920 x 1080 video output for Windows Moviemaker preferably in avi format so that I can get high definition for burning to dvd or output back to hdv tape. Can anyone help with the procedure to follow? |

Don't think you'll fit a lot on a DVD in 1920x1080 avi format if you want uncompressed avi! |

You can Try Xmedia Recode (http://www.xmedia-recode.de/) it may do what you want, but being in HD, it may require a duel Layer DVD to retain any sort of HD quality.
When it first installs it starts up in Dutch ( I think) but change the language to English and away you go. Language Options (www.imagef1.net.nz) |

you're just using the dvd for storage right and not expecting it to work in a dvd player? Just checking..but have seen some people expecting that HD will work on their dvd players. |

If you are playing with HD content, I'd recommend using h.264 as the codec and a modern container like mkv. |
