644881 2008-02-29 08:42:00 I just finished watching the TEDtalk about Microsoft Research's WorldWide Telescope and was admittedly impressed despite the apparent hype (scobleizer.com) and Microsoft-isms. It's generally summed up as a souped up Google Sky (earth.google.com) but this IMO is quite an understatement.

I'm sure some will be quick to write this one off but I think it's great we're making use of the technology and data we currently have to make richer information available. Microsoft definitely deserve the feel-good effects this'll bring.

Yeah, I had that in the post but deleted it, dunno why. Especially since I posted about it from a Mac, heh.

644887 2008-05-15 03:42:00 Takes about 5 mins to load on my system. About halfway through loading a message comes up saying something like, can't find internet connection useing cache switching to off line mode. Tried to view hubble images nothing, clicked on a few buttons, program locked up, had to use ctrl alt delete to close it down.
:(

644889 2008-05-15 08:45:00 Forgot to mention, got the usual error report which I sent to MS.

644890 2008-05-15 23:42:00 Yes had a look but when I realized you need Broadband, at least 1gig of memory, and VISTA, decided it was another very clever marketing venture by MS.
I'll leave it for now.
