644156 2008-02-27 07:53:00 Last month PC World did a review on the Asus PC Eee.

This month on one of these;

www.via.com.tw

It looks like an interesting gadget and I'm sorely tempted to get one and use it in a spare drive bay on my PC; then make my present large Debian server redundant and use one of these for that purpose instead - saves space (also known as an excuse to play around with a new gadget).

I wonder how one would go as a car PC, say, holding all one's music cd's.

Apparently asus are bring out a new eee PC, to combat the negative comments about the small screen. Apparently it will have a 1024 resolution across which will be an improvement.

644159 2008-02-27 19:50:00 Yes, VIA make some nice small boards. I have considered getting the board the powers the Walmart $US199 pc (bit bigger though).

I have a NAS device which has embedded Linux but I haven't managed to work out how to Telnet into it.
