644078	2008-02-27 06:01:00	TV3 had a thing yesterday and I was a bit surprised even at $5.00 they said they will never use public transport. So just a survey. This is not about using the car to go out and going shopping afterwards to save petrol. Its about a significant lifestyle change, ie., use public transport, cycle or walk to work or going out for the most of the time. For me, I just borrow car in the w'end go out out once, I enjoy public transport probably from my international travels that I have done, I enjoy the crowd the traffic and public transport its more active, you are able to brisk walk to the bus stop of train station and brisk away out of there and into the office. Someone else is doing the driving, and its just more action, more going on. I feel its just so efficient, how you can move 2 hour of peak travel for a city of Shanghai, Tokyo or New York City. Prob from my childhood my love of airports (but not necessarily flying). I live in the suburbs. Even if I drive my petrol for going to and from work, may raise $30 a week (over the good days) I guess. I think that's not that much cos one can just allocate but of course it does swing it off balance cos it needs to be balanced elsewhere. Being a person who travels and get stuff from my other hobbies, I can manage those ie., from taking pack lunches to work, have coffee (free) at work, don't go to Friday or w'end drinks, use video coupons for hires, perhaps stay home at Christmas or drive short distances or fly there which may be cheaper, don't order junk food. Go travelling when they have sales ie., off peak seasons.	Nomad (952)
644079	2008-02-27 06:19:00	It's a bit of a catch 22 outside of Wellywood with public transport. It's all diesel based so as the fuel prices go up so will the cost of public transport. Sort of 3rd world public transport in this country especially in Auckland..	paulw (1826)

644082	2008-02-27 06:48:00	I catch the train to work, but I drive to the station. :p Mainly cause the bus that is 3 streets away leaves at times when I will not be able to catch the correct train to get to work without being late or overly early... And then I just need to walk across the road after getting off the train at Wellington, and I am at work :D For me I catch the train for ease, then I don't need to sit in all the rush hour traffic... *thinks of tomorrow mornings train and what I must do on that train...*	The_End_Of_Reality (334)
