791550 2009-07-14 03:02:00 Hi and thanks in advance for any advice. Computer went fine yesterday morning. Last night went to use, and wouldn't start. Looking inside, I can see a black mark across a section of the board, close to the video card. The card also has this on it, but I feel it is probably not the cause. I can see the board is getting power to it. So apart from replacing the board, which I think is a given, what am I up for? It is around 3 years old (socket 939), so that has implications as well. Sigh.
Thanks

791551 2009-07-14 03:05:00 See if replacing the PSU / card fixes it. If not, you'll have to update/upgrade it (the CPU/mobo, and ram). Depends if you want an Intel or AMD based system Speedy Gonzales (78)

SO the card killed the board or the board killed the card.
I'd say both are probably stuffed.

But, it could also be the PSU..
