791525 2009-07-13 22:50:00 Hey im thinking about dual booting my laptop with xp and vista. It currently has vista on it. Found this how to apcmag.com _first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm could you check over it to see if it would work?
Also want to create an image of current hard drive setup so was going to put my laptop hard drive in a case and use my desktop to image the hard drive and wondering what would be the best to make an image. Norton Ghost or Acronis Home.

791526 2009-07-13 23:20:00 has a look at this thread and it looks like the how to I found will work. Now the question is what is better? Norton Ghost or Acronis home? nedkelly (9059)
791527 2009-07-13 23:24:00 Shrink the partition, install XP, then use EasyBCD to reinstall the Vista bootloader and add the XP entry. That's how I would do it. pcuser42 (130)

As long as it does the job.

I find Clonezilla the fastest, and macrium is good(free)

791531 2009-07-14 07:13:00 I use acronis but I bought it, macrium is supposed to be good but then again if the hdd is either a western digital or seagate they both have their own free software for download to clone the drive gary67 (56)
