643745 2008-02-26 19:55:00 recently i switched from pc to mac, (macs are pc's),

what i found funny about the hole thing is that its easier to install xp on a mac than it is on a pc :)

Thats nice but why put Windows on it then? The hardware is more expensive so for a Windows machine it makes more sense to have a PC.

643746 2008-02-26 20:09:00 Yeah that is one thing I never got - why do Mac people think that the ability to put Windows on a Mac says anything good about the Mac?

Nobody wants to put Mac OS on a PC....

You are wrong about that.

Just get a bunch of computers and put them in a Beowulf Cluster (en.wikipedia.org).

Why not?

Both have their good and bad points.
Apple has ease of use, much more user friendly than PC.
PC has a wider range of programs available for it.

Apple for working on Graphics and video applications
PC for gaming, home use etc.

Some Schools use PC, some use Mac. Some of our younger generation are learning both Apple and PC as they move through schools.

I dunno about that.
Windows came from Mac OS in the first place.

There isn't a lot of difference except PCs were made to be customised and Apples were made to be as difficult as possible to alter.

643751 2008-02-26 22:35:00 In case you hadn't noticed, this is a PC forum... it's not called MacF1.

It's not called PCF1 either and last time I checked Mac's had an F1 key (which wasn't that long ago since we have 2 sitting here at work).

Now while I'm all with you on metaphorically abhorring the potential return of WMG madness, what's the problem with someone talking about their platform switch? I don't notice this kind of bitching when someone extols the virtues of Linux?

So little love and tolerance on F1 nowadays. Of course, if the post in question had referred to religion, telepathy, genetic engineering, ghosts, or pixies, I'd be sinking my fangs in.

But I always say, why have one standard, when you can have two?

Because my wallet is limiting me. :p
